Bio

Tres y Seibo” was born from the meeting of three musicians: Sandra Boyer, Pascal Gutman, Patrick Lecomte and a singer-songwriter of Argentinian origin, Pablo “Seibo” De Robertis Their paths crossed during the premiere of Pablo De Robertis’ Latin American secular cantata “Los De La Tierra” at the Théâtre de Compiègne (Espace Jean Legendre) in 2007 as part of the Musicales. This group is located at the confluence of traditional Latin American music, pop and jazz. Like the “Seibo”, his favorite tree from Argentina, which plunges its roots into the water to rise into the air, Tres Y Seibo feeds on the currents of music by associating them with tunes from his own repertoire. Tres Y Seibo usually performs in a quartet and can also occasionally go a long way with an orchestra or other formations:

PABLO SEIBO DE RROBERTIS,

What Musical Genre Do You Feel Best Describes Your Music And How Would You Describe Your Sound?

A musical genre at the confluence of traditional South American music and pop music. Energetic sound, dynamic management and above all, emotion.

How Did You Get Your Name? Is There A Story?

The nickname Seibo (symbolic tree of Argentina) was given to me by my father. It was funnier to call the band Tres y Seibo than Seibo’s Quartet. So it sounds a bit like the answer to: what time is it? Son las tres y seibo (it’s seibo past three ) instead of: it’s half past three

What Are or Have Been Your Musical Influences?

Our influences: folklore, classical, jazz and pop

What Are You Working On Now? Any Future Collaborations We Can Look Forward To?

At the moment I’m mainly working on the composition of new songs, new arrangements.

What Is Your Ultimate Goal In The Music Industry? What Is Your Plan Of Action?

What we love most, our ultimate goal, is to play together on stage in public. I think that’s what every musician should want. Our action plan? Lol! We wait and see, what else to do? We can’t predict the future, it’s not in our hands.

What Is Your Favorite Track To Perform Live and Why?

Our favourite track? Rosa Del Sur, because it’s the song our audience expects. It starts gently and builds in strength. People wouldn’t let us walk off the stage if we didn’t play it.

What Has Been The Biggest Challenge In Your Career Thus Far?

Our biggest challenge has been working with orchestras in large concert halls

What’s Your Typical Songwriting Process?

There is none. Sometimes the music comes while walking, sometimes at the piano, sometimes while dreaming…

How Has Social Media Influenced Your Career As An Artist?

In no way. We have made ourselves known by word of mouth and we have networks

What Are Some Tracks and Artists Currently On Your Playlist?

Maria Bethânia Angélique Kidjo Supertramp Dire Straits Caetano Veloso Rufus Wainwright Alain Bashung

What Did You Do Before You Started Making Music?

Before making music? Let me think… Well, music actually, I made music before I was born

Any Advice For Young People (Men or Women) That Want To Succeed In The Music World?

Treat yourself

What Would You Change In The Music Industry If You Were A Top Music Executive?

I would change the treatment of sound and voices. No more autotune, less compression. More dynamics, naturalness and truth

How Do You Feel About Originality?

It’s difficult to talk about yourself, you put as much of yourself as possible. After that, it’s up to people to decide if it’s original or not, it’s not in our hands

Is There Anything Else We Should Know About You Or That You Would Like to Add?

We love you
