Guided by the euphoric love from his two previous albums, “Des Roses dans le Vent” (Roses in the Wind) and “Ne m’Oublie Pas” (Don’t Forget About Me), A’dem has come a long way to transcend the stereotypical taste of an Afro-Zouk melody maker. He has evolved into an accomplished background singer-songwriter, live performer, and world music artist, undoubtedly embraced by the vibrant atmosphere of the Apple State, Manhattan.
“We’re Traveling in the Dream,” “Crazy Lover in the Street,” and “I Would Like to be Your Soldier” were consecutively released as singles to the public over recent years. With the latest indicators suggesting that the artist might be preparing to unveil some new work to the world in the near future, here we go!

What Musical Genre Do You Feel Best Describes Your Music And How Would You Describe Your Sound?
There are so many interpretations of my sounds. When I mostly reference myself as a World Musician, it all come down to a free singer songwriter who doesn’t want to get locked into the limitation of the stereotypes but bring on essence to the music. That’s why the alternative painting of the latest songs have been preferably given the color of Folk Music.
How Did You Get Your Name? Is There A Story?
A’DEM is the contraction of my first and last name. In the early days of my career, I did wear for a long while the name DEM which is a property of a whole family then, realized that I had to separate mine for reason of the business.
What Are or Have Been Your Musical Influences?
I might say primo, my mother for the singing style. Then, I have discovered the sounds of some interesting and big legends from the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and many more traditional and modern singers around the world.

What Is Your Ultimate Goal In The Music Industry? What Is Your Plan Of Action?
I used to align with the idea that music as an art is not a competition though, my goal to rise to the top of the pyramid is undeniable. Afterward, I need to find the way to give it all. In other words, I need that freedom to invest every second of my time in doing what I really like doing. At some pont, I think a consequent record deal and a dedicated label house would massively help with this endeavor.
What Is Your Favorite Track To Perform Live and Why?
NEVER GIVE UP! Because it rims with the tempo of my time, and I play the acoustic.
What Has Been The Biggest Challenge In Your Career Thus Far?
The biggest challenge of my carrer is quitting my daily job. It also is overcoming the mistakes I innocently incurred when trying to enter the spotlight of the music industry since the 2015s when I made unaware connections that have appeared to be trackers and controllers unaligned with my career objectives. These have so far taken a big part of my American dream out of torture and manipulations. This decade long sequence has taken a lot out of my life, wasting at the same time that of so many others who were relying on me. Out of it, I barely lost my life in a mysterious car accident that took me four years laying in the couch at home without even the ability to build my home studio. This has so far been the frustrating event that still impacts my vision of the world around me and yet, the biggest challenge to accept this environment as it is, in order to give a chance to new connections for the good of the second chance of life and music.
What’s Your Typical Songwriting Process?
Song writing comes from many ways, but without the pressure to overwrite, I just leave it to the inspirations that come with the events or occasions.
How Has Social Media Influenced Your Career As An Artist?
To me, social media has been the thing that stopped the normalcy of a passionate musical career. It has so far looked like one has to dedicate their music creation time to social media in order to be seen as like the creation itself no longer matters. Honestly, social media has put a break to my career.

Mako, Ed Sheeran, Whitney Houston … are in my playlists, but I would also mention that most of my fans are fans of Beyonce, Justin Bieber, Frank Sinatra, George Michael, Alicia Keys…
What Did You Do Before You Started Making Music?
I was already writing songs when in High School then, I started painting and writing my first novel. But along side my early professional stage, I was in the Business of International Commerce.
Any Advice For Young People (Men or Women) That Want To Succeed In The Music World?
It first has to be a passion in order to be able to deal with the unpredictability of the events.
What Would You Change In The Music Industry If You Were A Top Music Executive?
I get not that much to say into today’s universe of the industry. I think nobody really masters anything to the fullest.
