David Melilli,

What Musical Genre Do You Feel Best Describes Your Music And How Would You Describe Your Sound?
My music is based on training rather than style, such as pop, rock or jazz.. Four years of music training between junior college and cal state college.

What Are or Have Been Your Musical Influences?
I hears from a local jazz musician, that he heard the influence of Emerson,Lake and Palmer in my compositions. As for guitar; Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Tommy Shaw of Styx.

What Are You Working On Now? Any Future Collaborations We Can Look Forward To?
I just finished 3 videos, one with audio mixer Aaron Burch. I will be releasing them soon.

What Is Your Ultimate Goal In The Music Industry? What Is Your Plan Of Action?
I’ve always wanted to do film scoring. I had a friend that was a composer for a music studio in Hollywood, but he’s switched to doing sound for a website. Probably lost that connection.

What Is Your Favorite Track To Perform Live and Why?
My favorite song to perform is Fat Cats, is easier to play and it has a blues feel to it, which is easy to groove on.

What Has Been The Biggest Challenge In Your Career Thus Far?
Covid-19, that broke when I was still editing my pieces. I needed a little help with that and I could’nt find any. And trying to get my web designer to finish my web site.

What’s Your Typical Songwriting Process?
I first chose the key I will play in, then the harmonic instrument that I play in, such as piano, organ, guitar, horns or strings. Then I nuddle around with chord progressions, to see what pops, then I chose a melodic instrument, then I create a melody, then drums and bass. Not always in that order, but more often than not, what I just laid out.

What Are Some Tracks and Artists Currently On Your Playlist?
On song trader, I have first my original playlist, then followed by Evil Ways playlist, followed by Political Man playlist and finally Spiin Wheel playlist.

What Did You Do Before You Started Making Music?
I worked at Behavioral Health, counseling mentally ill clients.

Any Advice For Young People (Men or Women) That Want To Succeed In The Music World?
First ,don’t let obstacles set you behind schedule, if possible, and don’t let golden opportunities slip through your hands.

How Do You Feel About Originality?
Originality is what I am all about. Because of my musical approach nobody else sounds like me.
