RISUR INTERVIEW WITH JUSTIN LEE O.C.

RISUR INTERVIEW WITH JUSTIN LEE O.C.

I’ve always been interested and in love with music period. I’ve played many instruments over the years even though I can’t tell you what note is what as I learned everything played by ear and sight. I used to watch my brother and his friends play guitar and wait for them to leave and then go practice
everything I watched them do until figured it out. They busted me all the time but that never stopped me though. I never really stuck with any instruments, just dabbled with a lot of different things. I started rapping at about the age of 12, your normal trash rhymes trying to figure out my style and how to write a verse and hook, and what bars even were. But needless to say, when I started I was trying to be gangsta, thug of the year. Started a group with 3 of my long time friends called Foul Play and started doing a few local shows here and there, biggest show we ever did was opening for the NB Ridas. This is also where I got my rap name, from my brother Bernard Martinez a.k.a Rockstar God rest his soul, left us way too young and soon. I know it’s not a Christian rapper name per se but it’s special to me for a lot of reasons. The group eventually fell apart and went our separate ways. I stopped rapping for a few years but could never stop writing songs. I got a hold of a long time brother of mine named Martin Gutierrez a.k.a Royalty @ IronPride Prod. who was the brother n law of one of my other friends in the group. The headmaster of his craft and hasMastered&Engineered every single one of my songs to date. Finally, God blessed me with the idea to intertwine my love and faith for him and my struggles with my music. Since then it has just been a roller coaster of beautiful Christian rap songs that God puts in my head, I put on paper, and with my brother Marvin’s help, throw it all together. The funny thing is that I and him perform miracles with these songs, neither of us has a proper studio or even a proper mic. He has some stuff, but as far as the songs and videos for the songs go right now, my Samsung s20+ is my entire studio. I record my songs using the headset with a built-in mic that came with my phone, send them to my main man Martin so he can do his thing, he sends me the final copy of the song, and then I use my phone again to record the videos for the songs and edit the videos, and upload them to my youtube channel, so God has blessed me to be able to make a way to still get quality songs out with very little. I am truly Blessed.
