R|0 Found music at the age of 13 when Faxing Berlin hit Germany. Deadmau5 was starting his path then. 6 months later, He downloaded a very basic DAW in order to spare time. That was the start of a decade long journey studying the electronics and rhythms of music. It would take a return to the US, a few trips to Ethiopia, and an broadening of the states to really understand what has happened in that time for R|0. A lot has happened in those short 14 years of experience. And now, living in a nation with coronavirus, has taken the time to structure the purposes of music and its audible intent. A man of the renaissance, he has many focused hobbies that include juggling, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, PC gaming, and other oddball things. He studies his environment well, and has taken time to embody active thinking and learning, communication, and expression. He has a history that includes toxic subjects with toxic people, and has a vision that reaches the horizon. He makes it into his music the best he can. Having left university to work due to family emergencies, he has managed to do well for his ethic and responsiveness, and is maintaining it at this point, even with covid-19.He is currently in the process of returning to university to finish his degree in music. He intends to become a BJJ black belt. His desire to have his music heard is ferocious now. It mimics his energy and existence. R|0 likes to take understanding and realistic thoughts into his mind and turn them into the sounds he thinks will help the next person breathe. Especially when they breathe to the music, that groove.

R|0,
What Musical Genre Do You Feel Best Describes Your Music And How Would You Describe Your Sound?
I feel that Electronic is the most accurate, due to my different rhythmic sounds it could fit in many genres, but electronic would embody the whole of my sound.
How Did You Get Your Name? Is There A Story?
I was given my nickname while not in society. Thats all I will say to that. Rojo has been my first title and I respect it for its integrity to my cultural history and meaning to my life, personally. R|0 came from that. I wanted to find a way to convey myself in a way that has definition. So i took the r meaning reality in mathematics and divided it by 0. It is just an irony my name is Rojo.
What Are or Have Been Your Musical Influences?
My music is influenced by kermit the frog lol. But on a serious note, i have had influence over the past two years by playing my music over and over again in the car, until i disliked it so much i understood how to make it more and better. I am influenced by current rappers and old musicians from the 60’s and 70’s, and find influence in wierd things, like conversations and imagination.
What Are You Working On Now? Any Future Collaborations We Can Look Forward To?
I am currently fixing my library of music that I have produced. I found over 55 pieces of work that i have either fully created or just started, and am working on my first full album now. Hopefully, i can collaborate soon, who knows?
What Is Your Ultimate Goal In The Music Industry? What Is Your Plan Of Action?
My ultimate goal in the music industry is to get my foot in the door and have a full experience towards my best potential with the options that come up as time goes on. I wish to better myself as a musician, and if that means working on a team with other initiatives and people, I am in. Also if this leads me to independent ownership of my creations and I am making music for a fanbase, would not mind that either!
What Is Your Favorite Track To Perform Live and Why?
So, i have one piece i made for my local university that is 7 minutes long and is dolby digital sorround sound avant-garde media. It is very intense and involved and is musical in its own ways. I loved performing that piece because it takes away a lot space and replaces it with noise that could either be noise or be music. I love it.
What Has Been The Biggest Challenge In Your Career Thus Far?
It has been getting to this point now where I am finally posting my music after 13 years of making it. It has taken a lot of my maturity and confidence to do this finally, and I hope to be ready for the future in regards to music.
What’s Your Typical Songwriting Process?
I have three usual ways i create music.

  1. Make a 1 bar drum loop, to then 4 bar melody, to then 4 bar drum loop, to then finishing a project.
  2. Hit random things radically, frantically and desperately till I either stop, or realize otherwise, to then taking a deep breathe and starting with an 8 bar melody to then 4 bar drum loop to then finishing a project.
  3. Find a couple samples and see what happens there, if it works go to process 1.
How Has Social Media Influenced Your Career As An Artist?
It has not because I am not a big social media influencer or marketer.
What Are Some Tracks and Artists Currently On Your Playlist?
    Billie eillish
    No mana
    Tiesto
    NF
    Girl in red
What Did You Do Before You Started Making Music?
I was playing with rubiks cubes and basic card tricks that were less than magical.
Any Advice For Young People (Men or Women) That Want To Succeed In The Music World?
One thing that I can say, is challenge the way you perceive reality in a literal way. You, specifically, have tools and power inside your fingers and eyes. Use them to the highest dominant advantage for you, specifically, are a human being and a master of what is real around you. Do not leave your mind, body, or the fire of your soul behind inside your reality. Be creation, and use your intent to master your world, and if it is in music, be loving to it.

You are a tone of emotion and expression at every given point you breathe. Be aware of that and have a growth mindset. Life must change, or else flowers will remain underground and your music will remain dormant.

Trust.
What Would You Change In The Music Industry If You Were A Top Music Executive?
Most likely the advantage of topic using for musical promotion. I listen to a lot of sex, and yes i sing about it too, it still doesnt have to be what hits 500 though, especially if my attitudes toward music affected its power.
How Do You Feel About Originality?
Thats a wierd question. That would require a more in depth response that would depend on different points that would require examples to express meaning.
Is There Anything Else We Should Know About You Or That You Would Like to Add?
I want to become a BJJ black belt badly, also I struggle like any other person in this world at this point. Love would be reciprocated completely.
