With roots in the Harrisburg, PA area, David W. Smith is proud of his ancestry and their contributions to society. Hence, the name for his upcoming debut EP, ‘Legacy’ Hoping to follow in their footsteps, he has been playing piano since age 11. He started songwriting in his teens. Teaching himself a songs’ structure. Also, taking up the guitar for awhile. Getting in a band at age 20, he learned to copyright your music. Playing by ear for many years. Raised on rock and roll. He has learned many covers in his spare time. Now using guitar tabs. Taking up a love for singing in his 30’s. It just came natural. Without a singing lesson. After having writer’s block for many years,. he has penned 9 original songs in two years from 2019 – 2021. His sounds have been described as Country/Folk. His days of playing shows may be over but the events of 2020 have still brought out his creativity to the maximum. Gaining exposure in other ways, you can currently hear, “She’s From Outer Space,” on Rising Star Underground Radio, rsu-radio.com, and “My Huge Election (Reprise).” The latter not making it on the album

What Musical Genre Do You Feel Best Describes Your Music And How Would You Describe Your Sound?
Overall, I would say Rock. My sound has been described as Country/Folk.
How Did You Get Your Name? Is There A Story?
After writing and recording my songs, I tested the waters on such sites as SOUNDCLOUD and Reverbnation winning the hearts and praises of tens of thousands.
What Are or Have Been Your Musical Influences?
Classic Rock, 70’s AM radio, 80’s hair bands to name a few.
What Are You Working On Now? Any Future Collaborations We Can Look Forward To?
I made an EP., ‘Legacy.’ Due out on my birthday July 11, 2021. Streaming on most major platforms. I suggested getting together but the person is busy with family at the moment so time will tell.
What Is Your Ultimate Goal In The Music Industry? What Is Your Plan Of Action?
It’s about doing something you love. It’s not about the fortune or fame. I want my family to look down and be proud. I want to make the fans happy.
What Is Your Favorite Track To Perform Live and Why?
DAVID-19(PARTS I-V). It got the biggest reaction and that makes me glad.
What Has Been The Biggest Challenge In Your Career Thus Far?
My memory isn’t as good as it was in my 20’s. So I rely on my cheat sheets. I believe to have gone undiagnosed with a nervous disorder that causes tremors. It’s hard to get through one song let alone it would a whole set I believe.
What’s Your Typical Songwriting Process?
A lyric will pop into my head and I’ll jot it down and finish the lyrics and then add the melody on my keyboard. Or, vice versa. I can sing a melody into my iPhone.and finish the words and music later.
How Has Social Media Influenced Your Career As An Artist?
I like having an audience. No matter what kind The fans inspire me to want to do more. To improve. I can reach thousands in just one click. Let alone, my health would probably prevent me from going from show to show.
