Bio
My name is Marin Tijan. I was born in 1983 in small town of Delnice, Croatia, where I grew up and attended elementary school.
At the age of 10, I encountered my first contact with a guitar, which resulted in my parents enrolling me in Music school. That is how my love for music started.
When I finish my elementary school, I got my first electric guitar and formed my first band with a friend. The band did not survive long, but that experience was enough to encourage me to be persistent and to follow my dream. Since then I played in several smaller bands and performed at local festivals.
I am currently in solo waters and making my own music. The love for creating music is a big part of my life and I am looking forward to seeing where that path takes me.

Marin Tijan,
What Musical Genre Do You Feel Best Describes Your Music And How Would You Describe Your Sound?
It`s difficult to answer that. If I have to describe it, I would say my music ranges from Pink Floyd to Van Halen and everything in between. My sound is rock and roll… The simpler the better!
How Did You Get Your Name? Is There A Story?
It is quite simple: that is my name and surname.
What Are or Have Been Your Musical Influences?
Pink Floyd, Van Halen, Porcupine Tree, Led Zeppelin, etc. These were all great influences on my music direction.
What Are You Working On Now? Any Future Collaborations We Can Look Forward To?
I am working on new material, the riffs are coming together slowly but surely, and as for cooperation, I have some plans, but we will leave that for the near future.
What Is Your Ultimate Goal In The Music Industry? What Is Your Plan Of Action?
Even at young age and later following my idols, I have always dreamed of being a musician and performing on stage and playing in front of the audience. My goal is to play music as often as I can, because there is no better feeling than standing on stage and performing.
What Has Been The Biggest Challenge In Your Career Thus Far?
The biggest challenge has been and still is making great music. It is so much fun and also a big challenge. There is no better feeling than making a riff and realizing it is ok, but then the challenge side of you pushes you to make it even better. When you put all that together in a song and you have that moment of: “Wow!”… Challenge, will, desire, effort!
What’s Your Typical Songwriting Process?
My typical Songwriting process varies: sometimes I play a riff in my head, it could come to me at work or somewhere else and then I transfer it later to the strings of my guitar. When I hear a sound around me, an idea comes into my mind, but my inspiration mostly comes when I play my acoustic guitar. Most of my recorded music came from enjoying myself whiles playing my acoustic guitar.
What Did You Do Before You Started Making Music?
I’ve started making music quite early, when I was still in my elementary school. I have been working in various places, but have always created music at the same time.
Any Advice For Young People (Men or Women) That Want To Succeed In The Music World?
I am still young, too. 😊 My advice would be to keep going, to never give up, neither in music nor in anything you do in life, just keep your spirits up, keep willingness, love and desire alive, and eventually all the effort will pay off.
Is There Anything Else We Should Know About You Or That You Would Like to Add?
Stay true to yourself… No Compromises…!
